Singletrack Mindfulness: Mountain Biking + Yoga Retreats

As soon as the weather begins to warm up, many Vermonters start to pull out their bicycles and go for a ride.  Bicycles provide great transporation to work and class in this small city with the added benefit of  ensuring you get some exercise in during the day. Furthermore, bike riding is an eco-friendly method of getting around.  Singletrack Mindfulness offers outdoor adventures and inner retreats for those who are passionate about mountain biking.  Not only does this organization have guided mountain biking tours, but they offer yoga as a complementary method of enhancing the bicycling experience. Singletrack Mindfulness hosts outdoor adventures where people get to ride beautiful Vermont trails that range from beginner to advanced.  During the retreats, yoga is taught to increase flexibility and strength of important parts of the body that are essential to biking (such as the arms, hips, and legs). Yoga helps to also strengthen the core, which  improves biking skills and stamina.

Other perks about practicing yoga while mountain biking include making a connection with nature and clearing your mind.  Yoga helps increase self-awareness and as a result the riding experience feels better. Many people get nervous when they come to a trail that can be difficult, and yoga practice can help one respond to stress calmy rather than reacting. Your guides at Singletrack Mindfulness know the VT trails they use very well and are excited to help make their students feel connected to the natural Vermont landscape.  Instructors Jennie Date & Jenn Childress are guides at Singletrack Mindfulness; together they make retreats stay fun and safe (as they are both CPR and Wilderness First Aid Certified) for all of their students.  Their high quality guiding methods, bike instruction, and yoga teachings is what makes this organization special. Singletrack Mindfulness'mission recognizes that having good community relations is highly important.  Therefore, the organization has many community partners such as the Vermont Mountain Biking Association, Kingdom Trails Association, and the Fellowship of the Wheel Organization. So why not deepen your relationship with the great outdoors and yourself?  Check out the Singletrack Mindfulness Blog and learn more about this community-oriented organization.
