Did you know there is even a list of foods you should eat each month specific to what is in season?  Ayurvedic Cooking is a great way to promote a healthy long life.  It is important to think about what you eat and how to eat foods that help you remain healthy. 2013 Burlington Yoga Conference is the perfect time to learn how you can deepen your yoga practice, and learn about the powerful healing aspects of Holistic Ayurvedic cooking. We will be offering a yoga and cooking class with Ayurvedic expert, Myra Lewin, Saturday from 5-6:30 pm at the Ayurvedic Center of Vermont (in Williston). As you may know, Ayurveda is “Ayu is life and Veda means knowledge.  Knowledge of life is Ayurveda.”  To go further in depth, Ayurveda is also “the science of life or longevity is the holistic alternative science from India and it is more than 5000 years old. It is believed to be the oldest healing science in existence, forming the foundation for all others.”Ayurvedic Cooking for Westerners is such a great tool that every yogi and person should have in their kitchen!  Those who already practice Ayurveda may know about the holistic healing approaches one can find from an Ayurvedic recipe. Join Myra Lewin at the Ayurveda Center via BYC to learn more about how everything is absorbed by 5 senses such as sunlight on our skin, food in our mouths and so on. In addition to internalizing life force and nutrients by our 5 senses, the senses also absorb toxins harmful to our health. Often times one may get sick as a result of toxins that are in our system.  Luckily people have holistic approaches to healing sickness such as Ayurveda.  This medical science contains powerful recipes that help someone who is sick heal.  Personalized eating plans are essential to promoting health and healing process as well as activities to balance your constitution, what you have too much off in your mind-body and what you need.  Here are some examples of holistic recipes for certain illnesses such as High Blood Pressure.Enjoy!
